In Klima, which is the largest and most eccentric village in the island, with typical islander architecture, one can find «Sirmata», rare constructions that can be found only in Greece. «Sirmata» is the name the locals use to describe spaces dug in to soft volcanic rock, creating small caves; they were always used for protecting boats from strong winter winds. After a while, though, and after long years of development they evolved, without losing their original structure, into permanent residences for fishermen or summer houses for locals vacationing. They are situated right next to the sea, or at least a few meter away from it and they are painted in very bright colors (red, green, yellow, brown, blue). It is here that one will find «Tsakanos' Sirma» (Google Map). A living room, dining room, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a separate storage room exists in its ground floor. Right on top of it, on the second floor, you will find another sitting room and a bedroom overseeing the Aegean Sea; the bedroom has its own bathroom, a shower and a balcony hanging over the sea. To top it all, in the sitting room's loft, there is also one more bedroom overseeing the vast blue of Cycladic Sea. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of the area, as you will be leaving your car in the nearest road-parking lot, which is located 500 meters away; you should keep in mind that there are no roads around here only the beach. The only noise, with any potential for destroying the peace, comes from the waves crashing and the seagulls playing. You will be able to watch the life of the village's fishermen up close, to experience their calmness and to enjoy their warm smiles. This place will make you feel that you belong here and that time has stopped having any meaning. Everybody will welcome you here and will make their best so that you will miss nothing. On our part, we are willing to provide everything so as you will not miss anything; you, on the other hand, will just sit back and enjoy the calm and tranquility of the place.
